MYHEAT Covenant

"Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." – Colossians 3:23

1. The Spirit of Work

At MYHEAT, we believe work is a gift, a calling to serve others with excellence, creativity, and love. Every task, no matter how small, is an offering of grace.

  • Sabbath Rest: We honor the sacred Sabbath and cease work from Friday at 15:00 through Saturday. This time is set aside for rest, renewal, and reflection on the blessings of creation.
  • Sunday Opportunities: Work on Sundays is voluntary, respecting the unique responsibilities and needs of each team member.
  • Work Hours:
    • Monday to Thursday: Work hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with voluntary work beyond these times.
    • Friday: Work hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and all employees are expected to be available during this time.

2. Communication in a Remote Environment

As a remote company, smooth and consistent communication is essential. Employees are required to:

  • Be available and responsive during working hours.
  • Provide alternative contact information, such as a phone number, to ensure smooth communication if they cannot be reached on company platforms.
  • Attend all virtual meetings with their cameras on to foster connection and build strong relationships within the team.
  • Provide daily feedback on group platforms, including:
    • What I did yesterday: A brief summary of completed tasks.
    • What I plan to do today: An outline of intended goals or activities.
    • Challenges: Any obstacles faced, so the team can offer support and solutions.
  • This practice ensures transparency, accountability, and a collaborative spirit where team members help one another.

3. Equipment and Connectivity

Employees employed by MYHEAT must:

  • Provide their own laptop or computer capable of running the necessary software and performing assigned work duties efficiently.
  • Ensure they have a reliable internet connection to fulfill their responsibilities, attend meetings, and communicate effectively.

4. Organization and Excellence

We follow the example of God, who worked methodically in creation, completing each task for the day before moving on. Employees are encouraged to:

  • Be organized and deliberate in their work.
  • Focus on completing daily tasks with excellence and dedication.

5. Our Values: A Standard of Grace

We commit to living by these principles:

  • Excellence: To work as though crafting for heaven itself, with diligence and care.
  • Integrity: Let honesty and fairness guide every interaction.
  • Community: Support one another as stewards of a shared mission.

Each day, team members will embrace a moment to reflect on purpose and complete one meaningful task.

6. Ignite Mornings: Lighting the Path

Every Monday, we gather as one to:

  • Share our values and meditate on our higher calling.
  • Reflect on how we can bring light to our work and to those we serve.

This is a time to align our hearts and minds with MYHEAT’s mission.

7. A Covenant of Trust

As stewards of the personal information entrusted to us, we commit:

  • To guard it as a sacred trust.
  • Never to share or misuse information without explicit consent, as agreed upon in contracts.

8. Disciplinary Process: A Path of Correction

We are disciplined by God out of love, for correction and growth. Similarly, MYHEAT’s disciplinary process is designed to:

  • Be fair, transparent, and respectful.
  • Align with South African labor laws and biblical principles of justice and grace.

Steps in the Disciplinary Process:

  1. Acknowledgment of the Issue: The employee will be made aware of the specific policy or standard they have not adhered to.
  2. Discussion and Reflection: A meeting will be held to understand the circumstances, allowing the employee to provide their perspective (Proverbs 18:13).
  3. Written Warning: If the issue persists, a formal warning will be issued, documenting the breach and expectations for improvement.
  4. Disciplinary Hearing: For continued or serious breaches, a formal hearing will take place.
    • The hearing will adhere to South African labor laws, ensuring due process, fairness, and the presence of a representative if desired.
  5. Final Decision: Based on the hearing’s outcome, actions may include further warnings, suspension, or termination of employment.

9. Compliance for International Employees

Employees working for MYHEAT from other countries are required to:

  • Abide by MYHEAT’s policies and standards.
  • Comply with the labor laws of South Africa, where the company is registered.
  • Ensure their conduct reflects the values and principles upheld by MYHEAT, fostering unity across borders.

10. Roles of Purpose

Each role at MYHEAT is a calling, uniquely suited to bring out the best in our team:

  • UI/UX Designer: Designs with heavenly grace, ensuring every product brings clarity and joy.
  • Project Team Lead: Guides with wisdom, bringing projects to fruition in harmony.
  • Software Developer: Crafts solutions with precision and care, as though building the gates of the New Jerusalem.

  • Finance: Manages resources faithfully, ensuring every blessing is used wisely.
  • Software Quality Assurance Engineer: Ensures the purity of every product, identifying flaws with care and striving for perfection, like a refiner of silver.

11. A Culture of Grace

MYHEAT is not just a workplace; it is a haven. We strive to make every interaction reflect the love, joy, and peace that come from a heart centered on higher values. Together, we create a space where excellence thrives, and lives are touched by the work of our hands.

"Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." – Matthew 5:16
